New National TV Series Planned to Showcase Vacation Rental Homes
Limited Number of Participating Program Sponsors Being Sought

ORLANDO, Fla. (Sept. 3, 2008) - In preparation of Discover Vacation Homes’ national expansion in 2009, the association is partnering with PineRidge Film & Television in the development of broadcast programming designed to raise the public’s awareness and interest in the tourism segment of vacation rental homes, villas and condominiums.

Since 1990, PineRidge has developed and delivered quality television programs, utilizing an Emmy Award-winning production team. They have produced over 500 half-hour shows and 36 hour-long Prime Time specials airing on the Travel Channel, PBS, the Lifetime Network, the Fine Living Network, HGTV (Home and Garden Television), DIY (Do-It-Yourself Network), and the Food Network.

“For vacationers looking to maximize their travel dollar, vacation homes are terrific alternatives to hotels,” according to Steve Trover, President of Discover Vacation Homes, the association that promotes awareness of vacationing in rental vacation homes. “And they afford far more space than a typical guestroom. But currently a small percentage of the traveling public knows this. With our new series, we plan to change that, as the reality television show will be both informational and inspirational. This will be one of the first travel shows focused on emerging vacation lifestyles - one that follows people from all walks of life who experience, for the very first time in their lives, their most special and memorable vacations together in a luxurious yet affordable vacation rental home.”

Vacation home rentals typically provide from three to seven bedrooms, a private pool, kitchen, game room and even an in-home movie theater, all for about the cost as a hotel stay. Homes showcased in the series will represent varied vacation destinations ranging from rental home options in close proximity to Orlando theme parks, beaches, golf communities, ski resorts, historic monuments, National Parks, and even cultural city centers. They’re a great option for multi-generational family vacations, golfers, destination wedding parties, reunions, special needs travelers, and more.

Program sponsorships are currently being sought for the proposed 13 episode series. Interested parties can contact Discover Vacation Homes’ Chief Strategist, Rick Fisher, at (203) 461-9176.
